I got a call from a guy who’s locked up on a bad check charge. He tried to deposit a bad check and was charged with Forgery. The guy has a record and is on probation. He turned himself in and is looking to bond out.

I put him through to his mother who works as a waitress at a breakfast restaurant. She was pretty pissed off at him and explained that she has bills and is still trying to pay off his last bail bond. She told him she needs some time to get the money together and to emphasize the point she said “‘Cause I don’t shit green!”

“Still trying to pay off his last bail bond,” always makes me ask: “Why aren’t you going back to that bondsman?”

- Oh I’ve asked…the reason is usually something about the other bondsman would revoke bail if he hears the person got in trouble.
