Bail Bond Confessions Blog

Still waiting… | August 25, 2009

I really wish I had something interesting to report. Unfortunately, nothing has changed.  I’m still waiting on the state to issue me a surety license.  At this point, I’m not even clear on what the delay is, but as far as I know there is no problem with me or my paperwork.

In other news, I’m working on my website and business cards. Still spending money and not making any money.  Seems like a formula for failure.  I’m holding off on purchasing bail bond software, accounting software, a new desk, and signing up for credit card processing.  All of that is optional and can wait until I have some income.

Very discouraged right now.

  1. I have just discovered you blog and must say that I have really been enjoying reading it. It’s nice to know that there is someone other than my self that’s weeding through the seamlessly never ending maze of starting a bail company. It’s funny because I have recently been going through some of the exact same dilemmas as you have. Your blog is very insightful and further lets me know that I am taking the right steps in developing my bail business. Maybe we should chat some time and bounce ideas. Feel free to email me ——

P.S. Hang in there. The fog will clear soon!

    • Thanks for reading, DJ! This seems to be a never ending saga. At this point, the state is having significant technical difficulties with their database and they can’t seem to decide if the confirmation of my listing in NPR (National Provider Registry) is strong enough evidence to warrant issuing my license or if they have to wait for the technical problems to resolve before they stick me in their own database.
